It’s Giveaway Week!

~Both giveaways are NOW CLOSED! Hang tight for the WINNERS!~

A couple times a year, Sew Mama Sew hosts a “Giveaway day” party, and I decided to be part of it this year. You can click that link above to find other blogs where you can enter to win fabulous crafty prizes, but first, read on and find out what I’ve got!

For the new visitors, let me introduce myself. Hi, I’m Jamie B. I make a lot of things and I spend way too much time on the internet. I publish a weekly list of cool and awesome things I’ve found around the internet, as well as my own craft and recipe tutorials. This week I’m delaying my internet roundup (I’m planning to post it on Tuesday) and I’d love for you to come check it out. I’ve also got a great recipe in the hopper to share with you, and maybe a few surprise posts as well.

I thought long and hard about this giveaway, and decided to gather up a collection of fabulous supplies for your crafting pleasure!

Here is a quick shot of all the supplies gathered together. I selected them carefully to represent different parts of my own crafting personality. I like to be diverse in my life and my blog, so here’s what may be the most diverse prize you’ve ever won. There’s something from just about every Arena of Crafting that I participate in.

In the photo above you can see a small packet of beads in various colors (I just dove into my box and chose a handful), a package of jump rings (perfect for making 12-in-2 Flowers!), a bottle of black crackle nail polish, 2 packets of cupcake decorations (they are Irish themed), a gorgeous green-and-gold ribbon (it’s quite long), and a nice big piece of fabric in pink-and-brown stripes.

AND this isn’t even all! These lovelies will be accompanied by a SECRET HANDMADE ITEM that I think you’ll love. I already know what it is; it’s sitting right next to me. I just felt like being mysterious. shipped with a HANDMADE velcro-sealed bag. It measures approximately 7×7 and is designed to be used like a sandwich baggie. It’s lined with very thin vinyl and the outside is a pretty brown and ivory floral print. Just wipe it out and reuse. I don’t have any photos of it because I’m lazy.

ALL YOU HAVE TO DO is leave me a comment! I embrace diversity in my crafting, and I yearn for discussion on my blog. So let’s talk! Tell me what your favorite kind of crafting is! Do you like sewing, or maybe beading? Maille? Knitting? Maybe you’re into fashion arts, or even food! I want to talk about it with you!

For additional entries: come back all week and join in the discussions! I’ll be posting several times this week, and every comment will count as an entry in the giveaway! Tweets, facebook posts, pins, and the like are appreciated but will not count as entries. I will delete all spammy comments or anybody who’s being mean.

This contest is open from Monday May 21 at the time of posting until 5pm PST on Friday May 25 – so enter early and enter often! I will contact the winner by email, so make sure you leave a contact email when you comment. I do screen comments so yours may not show up immediately – just be patient!

Remember to COME BACK (you can subscribe by email or RSS if you’d like) throughout the week to join in the fun and grab more entries! I can also be found on Twitter (I automatically tweet a link to each post), Pinterest, Tumblr, and a couple other places which you’ll find listed in the right sidebar.

I totally am! πŸ™‚ I make it as jewelry mostly, but I’m working on a big coat of maille for my husband as well. πŸ™‚ I’ve got a few pieces in my etsy shop if you’re interested, and I actually have a tutorial for a pretty flower pattern as well. It’s linked in this post, and if you win the giveaway you can make some with the rings!

This is such a cool giveaway because it incorporates so many facets of “crafting”. I tend to do a little bit of everything – knit, crochet, sew, quilt, embroidery, cook, bake, jewelry, scrapbook, general crafts, etc… I just love it all. So this giveaway is right up my alley! I completely agree. I know it is sponsored by Sew Momma Sew, so I understand that a lot of the people are quilters or sewers, but I like so many types of crafts outside of just fabric that it is nice to find an area where I feel represented!!

It seems to be overwhelmingly “QUILTING” out there (which is fine because FABRIC) but I’d love to find a similar event that was more well-rounded. I’d like to find other bloggers who do jewelry and painting and clay and whatever else πŸ™‚

Having taught crochet and knitting to some friends, I agree that overall crochet seems to be the easier of the two for people to pick up. And as somebody who partakes in both crafts I have to say that crocheting something is much FASTER than knitting (of course it also eats up much more yarn than knitting).

I’m a new sewer. I’m feeling pretty confidant in raggedy quilts, pot holders, aprons, decorated hand towels and pillow cases.

i’m gearing up for a pieced quilt. a couple of table runners for a friend. and some dining chair slip covers for another friend.

and i’m also looking forward to working on some baby items.

I am like you in that I enjoy a lot of different crafts. I dabble in crochet, sew very little, scrapbook, make cards, like stamping and embossing, am just starting to try to make some jewelry, art journal, paint on canvas (not well but I enjoy it), doodle and whatever else strikes my fancy when I see it. I am not afraid to try things and fail. As long as I enjoy it, I do it!

I can tell already that I like your blog and I plan to sign up to follow after I enter this comment. I quilt and am branching out to a few simple handmade sewing projects but nothing difficult yet. I gave my daughter a set of jewelry tools (that I found at Ross of all places) and whenever I find jars of old jewelry or beads, etc. at antique and thrift stores I grab them for her. She hasn’t slowed down enough in her life to start crafting so I have started researching jewelry making. I love to create and see what others are creating. Thank you for this giveaway.

Love to sew, so guess that’s my chief crafty fun, but I also make jewelry- resin and glass using my mom’s artwork which is so wild its indescribable- Marcel Duchamp meets Picasso meets Chagall-have offered two sets at a charity auction 2 years in a row and they are always the most bidded on item so maybe I should start selling them ;))))-my sewing is usually to make gifts for people-hopefully they enjoy a handmade gift more than another gift card to who knows where;)))))

Ooh I’d like to try some crackle nail polish πŸ™‚ Like many of your commenters, I do a bit of everything. Except embroidery. My sister does that. I do bookbinding, as well; but then the main set – sewing, quilting, needlepoint, xstitch, crochet, knitting, … well, and tatting, with a shuttle, and spinning on a wheel, which are a bit out of the ordinary. Haven’t done jewelry making or beadwork in a long time, though. And baking – that’s craftish, at least it’s productive!

I usually spend most of my crafting time sewing. Anytime glue is involved I always end up with fingers stuck together. Same deal with paint, I seem to get it everywhere. I see a few people have commented about gardening. We can absolutely add it to my list of fav crafts… messy is allowed there!
